The Saskatoon Police Service is reporting the city’s 10th homicide of the year.
According to a statement, officers responded to a report of an injured man near the intersection of 71st Street East and Lipsett Crescent at about 7 a.m. Saturday.

Police officers and members of the Saskatoon Fire Department provided medical assistance, but the man was pronounced dead.
The intersection was temporarily closed to traffic, but the restrictions have since been lifted.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or Saskatoon Crime Stoppers.
Previous homicide investigations in 2026
The first homicide investigation of 2026 was related to a 25-year-old man with stab wounds who died at St Paul’s Hospital on Feb. 3. An 18-year-old man was charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault on Feb. 7. His charges were later downgraded on Feb. 27 to being an accessory after the fact to manslaughter, accessory after the fact to aggravated assault, public mischief and obstruction of justice.
The second homicide case of 2026 saw a man die after a shooting in the 900 block of 22nd Street West on March 14. A 17-year-old boy was charged on March 17 with second-degree murder, using a firearm while committing an indictable offence and possessing a firearm while prohibited.
The city’s third homicide investigation of the year began after a 61-year-old woman died in a house fire in the 400 block of Avenue I South on April 3. No arrests have been made.
The fourth killing of 2026 was a 39-year-old man who died in hospital after being found unresponsive on Avenue X South just before 4 a.m. on April 6. Police have made no arrests.
A suspicious death investigation after Saskatoon police found a body in an apartment on the 1100 block of Avenue W North on April 15, was then upgraded to a homicide, police said on April 27, making it the city’s fifth homicide investigation of the year. A teenager is facing a charge of murder in connection with that case.
Saskatoon Police Service said the death of 55-year-old Wray Musqua, who was found unresponsive in 2200 block of 22nd Street on April 24 and died in hospital on April 25 was the city’s sixth homicide case of 2026.
The city’s seventh homicide investigation of the year saw a 42-year-old woman charged with second-degree murder after the body of 77-year-old Dory Cook was found inside a Pleasant Hill home on May 3.
Saskatoon’s eighth homicide investigation of 2026 began on July 30 when police said a 24-year-old man died after being found injured in the 200 block of Avenue V South.
The ninth and most recent homicide in the city happened last month, after police officers found a man’s body on Aug. 13 while conducting a welfare check at an apartment on 17th Street West.
