Vancouver will be on the global stage hosting seven FIFA World Cup soccer games, and leaders are promoting the economic benefits of spending hundreds of millions of dollars on the international showcase.

Artist Chris Chipak of Red Pheasant Cree Nation designed the new logo, which was revealed Saturday for Indigenous Peoples Day. It will be worn on helmets for the kisiskâciwan game on June 28.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders take on the Toronto Argonauts in Week 3 of the CFL action. Jamie Nye and Britton Gray preview the game, answer fan questions, and go around the CFL in The Blitz podcast.

The Roughriders have quite the dynamic backfield to turn to; both AJ Ouellette and Ka'Deem Carey have been all-stars in the CFL. Kickoff for the game is set for 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Fans at the Canadian Brewhouse in Saskatoon were not happy with how the series ended. Many left before the final whistle sounded because they couldn't bear to see the Panthers lift the Stanley Cup.

It was heartbreak once again for the Edmonton Oilers against the Florida Panther. Forward Sam Reinhart scored four times in Game 6 to give the Panthers the 5-1 win as Florida defends its Stanley Cup title.
