A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision between an SUV and a half-ton truck at Highway 11 and 71st Street East on Wednesday morning.
In a news release, the Saskatoon Police Service said officers were called to the intersection shortly after 8 a.m.

The Saskatoon Fire Department said it used the jaws of life to access the driver of the SUV involved in the crash. The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Traffic restrictions are in place in both the east and westbound lanes of 71st Street East and the Idylwyld Service Road. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes in the area as the collision analyst unit investigates.
A three-vehicle crash on Sat, May 23, at Highway 16 and 71st St. had a similar impact on traffic in the area. In that incident, an ambulance was one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
On Jun. 8, 2024, a man driving a pickup truck had a collision with a gravel truck at Miller Ave. and 71st Street. The man was taken to hospital, where he later died.
