Man arrested after alleged domestic assault
A man was arrested after police were called to an apartment building in the 1900 block of 22nd Street West on Thursday morning at around 3:45 a.m.
Police were told an assault was in progress at the address. When they arrived, police said the officers found an injured woman near the building’s front doors. An investigation revealed that there had been a domestic assault in one of the building’s units, police said.
The officers arrested the suspect inside the building, police said. The 24-year-old man from Saskatoon has been charged with aggravated assault and assault by suffocation.
Alleged assault on cop results in arrest
A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a police officer on Wednesday.
According to police, a bike unit officer was patrolling the downtown area at around 7:30 p.m. when the officer “observed a man believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant interfering with a nearby business.”
The officer stopped and spoke to the man, but police said “he immediately became verbally and physically confrontational towards police.”
According to police, the man was arrested after a “brief struggle” and the arrival of additional officers on scene.
