Saskatoon police’s guns and gangs unit has arrested a 37-year-old man.
Around 1:45 a.m. on June 12, members of that unit and the tactical support unit “conducted enforcement action in a firearms investigation at a residence in the 300 block of Avenue W South,” police said in a release.

One man was arrested as a result, and police seized ammunition and a loaded, sawed-off .223 calibre Ruger rifle as evidence.
The man now faces four firearms-related charges, police said.
Officers respond to overnight stabbing
On June 16, Saskatoon police officers patrolling the 2200 block of 22nd Street West were flagged down by a man in distress around 1 a.m.
Police said a 24-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries “consistent with a stabbing” was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment.
