A man who drove away from a Corman Park Police Service traffic stop was arrested by Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) officers on Friday after being tracked by the police plane.
SPS said in a news release on June 8 that they were asked to help on June 5 around 1:20 a.m. by Saskatchewan RCMP after the attempted stop near Martensville, and were told the vehicle was driving southbound towards Saskatoon.

The police plane found the vehicle travelling into the city at high speed, and police said the driver continued driving fast nearly an hour, occasionally stopping to drop off passengers, before coming to a stop in the 100 block of Avenue P South.
SPS said the driver was then arrested, and a search by officers found suspected methamphetamine on him, as well a baton in the car.
A 31-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving, possession of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine and breaching court-imposed conditions.
Teen charged with kicking officers
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Saturday night in the 800 block of Confederation Drive in the Fairhaven neighbourhood after someone reported a person climbing onto a balcony and smashing flower pots.
When SPS arrived around 9:30 p.m. on June 6, they found a teen matching the suspect description. Police said the youth fought back while being put into a police car and kicked an officer. Police then searched the boy and said they found a can of bear spray hidden on him.
He now faces charges for assaulting two officers and carrying a hidden weapon.
Sleeping driver arrested
Early on Monday morning, police checked on a parked car near 8th Street and Wess Road on Saskatoon’s east side and found a 35-year-old woman sleeping in the driver’s seat, SPS said in a news release on June 8.
SPS said that after the woman was woken up, she repeatedly lied about her name and refused to show ID.
Police said that when an officer told her she was under arrest, she fought back, started her car engine and threw an unknown liquid at the officer, who had to go to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Police finally managed to turn off the car and make the arrest. SPS said they discovered the woman had outstanding arrest warrants, and she was also charged with obstruction, impersonating someone else and assault with a weapon.
Knife-carrying man charged
SPS said in a news release on June 8 that officers rushed on Saturday night to a Brevoort Park neighbourhood home in the 3100 block of 7th Street East after the homeowner reported a man with a knife in the backyard trying to get inside.
Officers said they found and arrested the 27-year-old without any trouble. Police added that they found he was carrying a knife on him and had outstanding arrest warrants.
The man has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, weapon possession, carrying a hidden weapon, and breaking prior court rules.
