Police in Saskatoon are investigating a shooting that left a man with serious injuries early on Saturday morning.
According to police, officers were called to the 300 block of Second Avenue South at around 3 a.m. where they found a 21-year-old man with injuries described as serious, but not life-threatening. Police said he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“Through further investigation, it was learned that the shooting occurred in the area of 3rd Avenue South and 20th Street East,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
The police force said the shooting is under investigation by its Serious Assault Unit.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation was encouraged to contact police or make a report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
Two charged after golf club fight in Exhibition neighbourhood
Two men found themselves in handcuffs after an alleged fight involving a golf club in Saskatoon’s Exhibition neighbourhood on Sunday morning.
According to police, officers were called to a home on Hilliard Street at around 1 a.m. after getting a report of an intruder armed with a golf club.
“Further updates outlined that the intruder was the downstairs tenant and was injured,” the police force said in a statement.
“Police arrived on scene and located a man on the front lawn with what were serious but later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by paramedics for further medical treatment.”
Police said two men – ages 33 and 56 – were arrested at the scene.
“Through further investigation, officers learned the victim reportedly entered the residence with a golf club before a physical altercation ensued between the victim and the two men already inside the residence,” the police force noted.
“It is believed that the men were known to each other.”
Both of the men who were arrested are facing charges of aggravated assault, police said, while the older man was also charged with unsafe storage of a firearm.
Man charged after alleged domestic assault involving gun
Police said a 32-year-old man was arrested on Saturday morning after a domestic dispute that allegedly involved a firearm.
Officers were called to Rita Crescent shortly before 1 a.m., police said, after getting a report saying the man involved in the dispute was armed with a gun.
Police said a man was arrested without incident after the officers arrived.
“As a result of this investigation, a 32-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and unauthorized possession of a firearm,” police said.
