Commuters in Saskatoon may need to use an alternate route on Thursday and Friday, with closures planned on three high-traffic roads around the city.
The intersection of Victoria Avenue and First Street East will be closed for water main work, with the closure starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday and running until 4 p.m. on Oct. 29.

Water main work also means a closure at the intersection of 25th Street East and Sixth Avenue North, though the city noted that the westbound turn lane from Kinsmen Avenue to 25th Street East will remain open. That project starts at 7 a.m. on Friday and runs until 5 p.m. on Oct. 16.
Finally, the city said Spadina Crescent East will be closed under the University Bridge from Kinsmen Park to 24th Street East from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday to allow workers to complete maintenance on the bridge.
“Closure end times are weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances,” the City of Saskatoon said in a statement.
“Saskatoon Transit may be affected by these detours. Transit service alerts and real-time bus information are available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on desktop.”
