Teen girl arrested with fake gun on city bus: Police
A 13-year-old girl was arrested Saturday afternoon after police say she was carrying a fake gun on a city bus.
According to police, officers were notified that a bus was heading to the depot on 23rd Street East with an intoxicated person on board at about 5:30 p.m.
“Upon arrival, officers observed a female believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant causing a disturbance outside the bus,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“As officers approached, the female attempted to conceal a bottle in her pants.”
Police said officers also spotted what appeared to be a gun next to the bottle, but after the girl was arrested, they discovered it was a fake.
“As a result, the 13-year-old female was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and carrying a concealed weapon without authorization,” the police force said.
