A traffic stop Monday, Aug. 17, on Onion Lake Cree Nation has led to several charges against two members of the community.
Onion Lake RCMP said a car was stopped on Chief Taylor Road and officers determined one of the people inside was breaching court-ordered conditions not to consume alcohol and to be in an approved residence between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Officers saw an open bottle of alcohol in the vehicle and also found 89 grams of methamphetamine, 45 grams of cocaine, 11 pharmaceutical tablets, cash, a machete and drug trafficking materials, police said.
A 44-year-old man and 35-year-old woman are both charged with four counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The man is also charged with failure to comply with release order conditions.
Both suspects will remain in custody until their scheduled appearances in Lloydminster Provincial Court. The 44-year-old man is scheduled to appear Sept. 2, while the 35-year-old woman is scheduled to appear Aug. 26.
Lloydminster RCMP arrest three for drug and firearms offences
A traffic stop by the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team uncovered a significant amount of illicit substances and weapons Tuesday afternoon.
Police said they conducted the stop after receiving a report of an armed man travelling on Highway 16. They stopped the vehicle near Lloydminster.
The three occupants were arrested and, inside the car, police said they found 447 grams of fentanyl, 761 grams of cocaine, 226 grams of psilocybin, 85 grams of methamphetamine, 700 millilitres of gamma-hydroxybutyrate, 2,627 pharmaceutical-style oxycodone pills and 441 pharmaceutical-style Xanax pills, police said.

Additionally, police recovered three guns, including a loaded handgun, three loaded firearm magazines and nearly 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
Three people — a 26-year-old and a 30-year-old, both from Lloydminster, and a 28-year-old from Bonnyville, Alta. — face numerous weapons and drug-related charges. They made their first court appearance Thursday.
