“A man reported that he was holding his car door closed as two unknown males were attempting to enter his vehicle,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“He reported that they also tried to steal his cell phone before fleeing.”
Police said the victim was unharmed, and officers caught up with the two suspects a short distance away. Both were arrested for public intoxication, police said, and they were also found to be carrying bear spray.
As a result, the 17-year-old boy and 21-year-old man were both charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and breaching probation.
