A series of popular KitchenAid electric kettles are being recalled after users found the handle could loosen from the kettle body and potentially cause injury.
Nine versions of the 1.7L KitchenAid kettle are being recalled. Product numbers and serial numbers are located on the label on the bottom of the kettle and also on the bottom of the base.
Of the 47,350 kettles sold in Canada, 19 cases of handles coming off were reported to Health Canada, along with one minor burn injury.
The kettles have been sold in Canada since September 2013.
Affected customers are asked to stop using the recalled kettles immediately and call Whirlpool at 1-800-874-0608 for a free replacement.
