A Saskatoon man collected his $1-million Lotto 649 winnings Monday.
Omar Tarafder won the prize in the Dec. 23 draw on a ticket he bought at Golf’s Car Wash on Arlington Avenue as part of a $24 Super Pack.
Tarafder didn’t know he won until he checked the ticket at the same store a few days later.
“I saw a number with all these zeroes, and I knew it was a big one,” he said in a release from Saskatchewan Lotteries. “I thought it was $100,000 at first, but then I looked again.”
He plans to use the money to pay off debt, put some toward his children’s education and put some into savings.
