A man who was charged in April with assault with a weapon and forcible confinement pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of common assault in court in Moose Jaw on Monday.
Richard Ryan Whitford, of Edmonton, received an eight-month conditional sentence with strict conditions. The 29-year-old must keep the peace, appear in court and remain in Saskatchewan.
