Fire crews are battling a blaze at, what 980 CJME has been told, is the old General Motors building in Regina.
The fire began Tuesday evening when Regina fire received a call around 9:40 p.m.
Fire crews were out battling the blaze that was engulfing the building located at the corner of 8th Avenue and Winnipeg Street.
Police have the area blocked off.
Police alerted people who were at The Grid, a virtual reality arcade on Winnipeg Street, about the fire and evacuated the building.
SaskPower was also called to scene to shut off electricity in the area.
People in the area said they could hear loud pops.
One witness told CJME that classic cars were being kept inside the building.
Kelly Goff is the owner of Beachcombers, a hot tub store nearby, and said she was alerted through a Facebook post about the fire. She quickly rushed down to ensure her own shop was safe from the blaze.
The old car plant was opened in Regina in 1927.
