A night after a 9-3 loss to Victoria, the Saskatoon Blades went back to their game plan Wednesday in a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Giants.
Logan Flodell stopped 31 of 32 shots while Mason McCarty(6,7) scored a pair of goals. Jesse Shynkaruk(6) added a single and the eventual winner.
The Blades were also more disciplined, taking only two penalties one night after giving up three power-play goals. Saskatoon also converted twice with the man advantage against Vancouver.
Before the two sides traded blows, the Blades and Vancouver swapped players. Saskatoon sent forward Josh Bruce to Vancouver in exchange for Saskatoon native Gage Ramsay.

Neither of the traded players made their debut on the opposite benches. Ramsay comes home to Saskatchewan after 43 career games with Vancouver, scoring three goals and adding an assist.
With the win Saskatoon has taken two of the first three games in a five-game road trip across B.C.
Next stop is Kamloops for a date with the Blazers on Friday, Oct. 21.
