Special teams continue to haunt the Saskatoon Blades who suffered a 6-3 loss to the Calgary Hitmen at SaskTel Centre Tuesday night.
Michael Zipp scored early in the first and late in the second, giving Calgary a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes and the flood gates opened.
The Blades’ Brycen Martin and Connor Gay scored to bring Saskatoon within one, but Calgary had four different players contribute on the powerplay propelling the Hitmen to a 6-3. The loss is Saskatoon’s fifth-straight defeat on home ice.
The Blades welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday then Red Deer on Saturday night at SaskTel Centre.
