Prince Albert RCMP said in a news release Sunday that the driver of a small car has died in a crash on Highway 3.
Police said they are responding to what is believed to be a head-on collision between an empty fuel truck and a small car between Weldon and Birch Hills.
Detours are being prepared and motorists can expect traffic delays for several hours in the area. RCMP is asking for people to avoid the area, if at all possible.
If you do have to pass the area, they ask that you slow down around the site of the collision and listen to the officer’s directions.
Prince Albert EMS, fire crews and the Highways department have all attended the scene with a collision reconstructionist expected at some point on Sunday.
