Martensville and Dalmeny fire departments responded to a large fire northwest of Saskatoon Wednesday morning.
People reported seeing a big cloud of black smoke coming from a field off of Highway 16 north of 71st Street.
“Really black smoke, you can see the flames from the highways,” said a driver who was coming in from Dalmeny.
Fire Chief Kurtis Dyck said crews responded to a garage fire on a farm around 6:30 a.m.
By a half hour later, flames were no longer visible and smoke was less prominent in the area.
No one was injured but the building was a total loss. Dyck said at this point the cause of the fire is undetermined.
