Drivers in Saskatoon may need to take a detour or two in the coming days, with closures coming to a number of roads around the city over the weekend and on Monday.
“Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the areas,” the City of Saskatoon said in a statement. “The City thanks everyone for their patience.”

The city said McCormack Road will be closed at Gordon Place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday for sewer work.
The southbound lanes of McKercher Drive will be closed at Eighth Street East for paving work on Saturday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., the city said, but two-way traffic will be maintained in the westbound lanes.
Also on Saturday, 108th Street West will be closed from Preston Avenue North to Bryans Avenue for crack sealing, with the work starting at 7 p.m. and wrapping up at 5 a.m. on Sunday.
On Sunday morning, the Circle Drive East westbound ramp to the southbound lanes of Warman Road will be closed from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. for signal maintenance work, the city said.
Then, on Monday, the Circle Drive South southeast ramp connecting to the northbound lanes of Circle Drive East will be closed to allow a temporary barrier to be set up in an area where a slope is failing, the city said. That work is scheduled to take place from 6 a.m. to noon.
“After this closure, the ramp will remain open throughout the duration of the work but will result in slow traffic flow and roadway width restrictions,” the city said in a statement.
“This work is expected to take two weeks from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.”
At 7 a.m. on Monday, the intersection of 25th Street East and First Avenue North will be closed for paving through to 5 p.m. on Oct. 21.
Finally, the Idylwyld Drive North northbound ramp to 51st Street East will be closed overnight on Monday for the installation of a “road weather system,” with the work set to take place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
“Closure end times are weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances,” the city noted.
“Saskatoon Transit may be affected by these detours. Transit service alerts and real-time bus information are available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on desktop.”
