The Saskatchewan RCMP says officers in Nipawin seized four different types of drugs, along with alcohol, stolen property and a loaded handgun during a traffic stop on Saturday.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers pulled over a vehicle for a licence, registration and sobriety check just after 4 a.m.

“During the traffic stop, officers noticed open alcohol in the vehicle in plain view. Investigation determined the driver was impaired and he was arrested,” the RCMP said in a statement issued on Thursday.
“During a search of the driver, officers located and seized a loaded handgun. While searching the vehicle, 21 grams of cocaine, four grams of methamphetamine, 44 grams of hydromorphone, 84 milligrams of fentanyl patches, ammunition, weapons, cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia, identification belonging to other individuals and a wallet previously reported stolen to Nipawin RCMP were seized.”
The RCMP said the driver, a 39-year-old man from Nipawin, is facing 11 charges, including impaired driving, carrying a concealed weapon, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
He appeared in court in Melfort on Thursday, the RCMP said.
