Several significant roads in Saskatoon will have restrictions and detours in place this weekend.
The Circle Drive South ramp to Lorne Avenue will be closed for road microsurfacing beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday. The closure will be in effect until 9 p.m. on Sunday, the city said.

In the Hampton Village area, McClocklin Road will be closed between Junor Avenue and Richardson Road, also to allow for microsurfacing. This closure is scheduled to begin Monday at 7 a.m. and last until Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Microsurfacing, a city spokesperson explained in an email, involves applying a mixture of emulsified asphalt and aggregate to correct minor imperfections in an otherwise structurally sound road. The treatment creates a protective barrier and prevents water from infiltrating the asphalt, the city noted. This helps extend the life of the road and minimize the need for expensive treatments down the line.
Road work will also lead to the closure of 20th Street West between avenues H and K from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
These projects are in addition to previously announced road work that will also have an impact on traffic.
All closures are “weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances,” the city said.
Transit routes may be affected by the road work. Riders were encouraged to check schedules and detours online or through third-party apps.
