A 63-year-old man from the Prince Albert area was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 12 early on Thursday morning.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers were called to the crash site on the Petrofka Bridge, south of Blaine Lake, at around 3 a.m.

“Investigation determined a minivan collided with a roadside safety barrier and subsequently collided with a parked heavy equipment vehicle,” the Mounties said in a statement.
“The driver and sole occupant of the minivan was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.”
Police said the man’s family has been notified of his death.
The RCMP said the crash remains under investigation, with assistance from a police collision reconstruction expert.
Highway 12 was closed during the initial investigation, but the route has since reopened to traffic, police said.
