A 28-year-old woman was arrested on Monday after allegedly stabbing a teenage girl in Saskatoon.
According to police, officers were called to Avenue M South shortly before 9 p.m. where they found the 16-year-old victim suffering from injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

“Just under an hour later, officers located a female matching the suspect description in the 300 block of Avenue C South where she was arrested without further incident,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“As a result, the 28-year-old woman has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.”
Woman, 70, stabbed during downtown mugging
Police said officers are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed a 70-year-old woman while trying to steal her purse on Monday afternoon.
Police said officers were called to the intersection of Fifth Avenue North and 24th Street East at around 2:15 p.m.
“It was reported that a woman was stabbed by an unknown male who attempted to take her bag,” police said.
“Arriving officers located a 70-year-old woman being treated on scene by paramedics for what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a stabbing. She was transported to hospital for further medical treatment.”
Police said a search of the area for the suspect came up empty. Anyone with information on the alleged attack was encouraged to contact police or make a report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
Women facing firearm charges after allegedly pointing gun out window of vehicle
Police said officers were called to Avenue C South shortly after 10 p.m. after a caller reported that a woman pointed a gun at them from the window of a vehicle, leading to a chase.
“Responding officers located the suspect vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue D South,” the police force said in a statement.
“The vehicle did not stop for police and began to drive away at a high rate of speed, ignoring red lights. Officers followed the vehicle as it drove south on Idylwyld Drive before eventually leaving the city on Highway 16.”
Police said the driver eventually stopped the vehicle near Highway 16 and Range Road 3040, where the two female occupants – both age 25 – were arrested. Inside the vehicle, police said officers found a backpack containing a gun and ammunition.
“As a result, two 25-year-old women are facing numerous firearms related charges,” police said.
“One of the women has also been charged with Evading Police and Dangerous Driving while the other has been charged with Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions and Possessing a Firearm while Prohibited.”
Stabbing victim treated in hospital
Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred on Saturday morning.
Officers were called to St. Paul’s Hospital on 20th Street West at around 1:45 a.m. after a 32-year-old man arrived at the facility seeking treatment for stab wounds.
Police said the incident is under investigation by officers with the police force’s Serious Assault Unit, and anyone with information on the case was asked to contact police or make a report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
