Work to replace water mains along Fourth Avenue begins this week.
According to the City of Saskatoon, workers will be replacing the main between 24th and 25th streets starting this week, and the project will require the intersection of Fourth Avenue and 24th to be closed for around three weeks, though the city noted that its timeline could change depending on weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

“Temporary water service has already been installed for affected properties,” the city said in a statement.
“Access to roads and driveways within the work zone will be restricted while construction is underway, and pedestrian detours may be in place to ensure safe access through the area.”
Starting on July 13, city workers will be installing a new storm sewer on Avenue Fourth between 24th and 25th streets, with that work expected to wrap up by the middle of August.
During the month of August, the city noted that workers will be doing water main rehabilitation work on 25th Street between Spadina Crescent and First Avenue North. Drivers should expect to see detours and traffic delays during that project, the city said, as access to the work area will be restricted.
The city said Saskatoon Transit may be affected by the work, and encouraged riders to check service alerts for the latest updates on their routes.
“Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted detours and use caution when travelling near construction zones,” the city said in a statement.
“Obey signs and watch for workers on the other side of the pylons. Every worker is someone’s someone, and we all deserve to get home safe.”
