Police in Saskatoon seized nearly five kilograms of cocaine last week after raiding a home in the city’s Willowgrove neighbourhood.
According to police, officers conducting a drug investigation arrested a 28-year-old man on Tuesday in the area of Muzyka Road and Lucyk Crescent. Police said the man was bitten and injured by a police dog after allegedly attempting to run, necessitating treatment from paramedics.

Officers later raided a home on Padget Crescent as part of the investigation. During the search, police said the officers found 4,824 grams of cocaine, $14,235 in cash, 235 counterfeit $100 bills, six cell phones, a vacuum sealer, digital scales and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
“As a result, the 28-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of counterfeit currency, and possession of property obtained through proceeds of crime,” the police force said in a statement.
