A 24-year-old man from Waterhen First Nation has been charged with second-degree murder after the death of a man on the First Nation on Friday.
Saskatchewan RCMP said in a news release on Jan. 31 that the victim was a 31-year-old, who was also from the First Nation, and the man charged and the victim knew each other.
Saskatchewan RCMP Homicide Investigation Unit was called in to investigate the death after officers from the Meadow Lake detachment received a report of an injured man at a home on the First Nation home about 8:45 a.m. on Friday morning.
Police said they found the seriously injured man, who was later pronounced dead by paramedics,
Police did not name the victim but said his family had been notified and victim services were made available to them.
The man charged is scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Feb. 2.
