“Upon arrival, officers encountered a woman acting erratically within a unit,” the police force said in a statement.
A police spokesperson alleged that the woman was “yelling/screaming” and making “unpredictable movements.”
“As they attempted to communicate with the woman and enter the unit to ensure the safety of others believed to be inside, the woman armed herself with a lit blowtorch, ran at the officers, and slammed the door,” police said.
Police said the officers ultimately forced their way into the apartment through the locked door, but found the woman had already fled through a window.
“She was located and arrested by additional officers a short time later,” police noted.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The 27-year-old woman is now facing charges of assaulting a police officer with a weapon and uttering threats.
