The auction scene in Tisdale is getting a new look, albeit with a familiar face.
Steffes Group Auctioneers is preparing for its first live auction at the Tisdale yard since the facility joined the company. The auction will be held Nov. 3 at the Steffes office on Highway 3 East.

According to a release from Steffes, the yard formerly operated as Bruce Schapansky Auctioneers beginning in 1997 before joining Steffes in 2024.
“The auction reflects a combination of local knowledge and industry experience, bringing together Bruce Schapansky’s longstanding roots in northeast Saskatchewan and Steffes Auctioneer’s more than 60 years of auction experience,” the release stated.
The new auction business will build on the relationships that have been created in the area while also taking advantage of Steffes’ resources, including an “expanded marketing reach, global buyer network and auction technology,” the statement said.
“I’ve spent decades building relationships with families across this region, and joining Steffes was about making sure those relationships and the trust behind them continue well into the future,” said Bruce Schapansky, strategic adviser and sales representative with Steffes Group Canada.
The Nov. 3 auction will be held both live and online and will include combines, trailers, tractors, trucks and more.
Steffes Group has been in operation since 1960 and last year conducted “more than 600 one-owner auctions, bringing together buyers and sellers through both live and online events,” according to the statement.
