A 14-year-old boy is alleged to be responsible for causing the death of a girl the same age in Prince Albert.
The youth, who was arrested on Thursday, is charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear Friday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
Peyton Flett, 14, was reported missing on June 30.

On Aug. 13, police located a deceased individual in the 300 block of 40th Street East during a search conducted as part of the investigation into Peyton’s disappearance.
An autopsy confirmed the identity as Peyton Flett.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation by the Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit.

On Aug. 20, the date of Flett’s birthday, a vigil was held on Prince Albert’s riverbank, and many of the stuffed animals and other gifts still remain at the site.
Flett was born and raised in Prince Albert and, according to family and friends, like other kids her age, she loved playing Roblox, reading and just sitting outside enjoying nature. Peyton’s mother, Danica Moore, described her daughter as gentle and kind, but also outspoken and independent.
Police are asking anyone who may have information regarding her disappearance or the circumstances surrounding her death to contact the Prince Albert Police Service or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
