Residential street sweeping will begin next week in Saskatoon.
After some early season work cleaning major roads, the city said street sweepers will move into residential areas starting on Monday.
The work will proceed throughout the city in phases, with the dates for specific neighbourhoods listed on the city’s website.

During the work, “No Parking” signs will go up at least 36 hours before the street sweepers arrive and drivers are required to move their vehicles by 7 a.m. on the day of the sweep in order to let crews clean the full width of the streets.
“Vehicles left in areas with parking restrictions will be ticketed and relocated,” the City of Saskatoon said in a statement.
The speed of the work will depend on the weather, the city noted, as wet conditions cause debris to stick to the road surface, reducing the effectiveness of the machines.
“This can result in incomplete cleaning and may require return visits,” the city added. “If rain impacts operations, schedule adjustments will be communicated.”
