A drug trafficking investigation on James Smith Cree Nation has led to the arrest of three people, according to Saskatchewan RCMP.
A search warrant executed in the community on April 14 led to officers seizing a small amount of cocaine, trafficking paraphernalia and cash from a home.
Saskatchewan RCMP officers from the Melfort detachment, the Prince Albert crime reduction team, police dog services and the critical incident response team were part of the investigation, RCMP said in a release.

Five people at the home were arrested, though two were released without charges.
A 19-year-old and two teenagers from Kinistin Saulteaux Nation are each charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
“One of the male teenagers also was charged with failing to comply with a youth court order,” the release stated.
All three are scheduled to appear on June 15 in Melfort Provincial Court.
Saskatchewan RCMP continue to investigate.
RCMP make drug bust at Lloydminster home
A drug investigation in January led to a warrant being executed at a home in Lloydminster, Alta. by Saskatchewan RCMP.
RCMP’s Lloydminster Saskatchewan trafficking response team began a drug trafficking investigation in that area in January 2026, which led to obtaining and executing a search warrant on 22 Street in Lloydminster on April 14.
While searching the residence, officers found and seized about 42 grams of cocaine, unstamped tobacco products, ammunition, a prohibited weapon, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia, according to a release from police.
A woman at the home was arrested and later released without charges.
The North Battleford crime reduction team and Alberta’s law enforcement response teams also assisted in the investigation.
