The first pursuit began at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday after officers got a report of a dangerous driver in a red Ford F-150 in the area of Millar Avenue and 64th Street.

“Upon arrival, officers located a man standing in the middle of the street, next to a vehicle matching the description,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement. “He then got back into the vehicle and refused to comply as Police attempted a traffic stop.”
Police said the driver led the officers in a chase that led from Wanuskewin Road to Highway 11, driving on rims after police used a tire deflation device.
Officers rammed the truck on Range Road 3052 to bring the chase to a close, police said. The 34-year-old driver is now facing charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving, evading police and failing to provide a breath sample.
In the second impaired driving incident, police said an officer spotted a suspicious Chrysler 200 on Eighth Street East at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday and attempted a traffic stop on McPherson Avenue.
“The driver was slow to pull over and when he did, a male and a female exited the vehicle and fled on foot,” police said. “The driver then sped away when the officer began approaching the vehicle.”
Police said the driver led officers down Wilson Crescent and Preston Avenue before crashing into the median while trying to pass a snowplow after officers popped the vehicle’s tires.
“The male then attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody,” the police force said. “The male was found to be wanted on several warrants. He is believed to have been under the influence of methamphetamine at the time.”
The 41-year-old man who was allegedly behind the wheel is now facing charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving, breaching court-ordered conditions, evading police and possession of bear spray.
