The intersection of Circle Drive and Millar Avenue has reopened to traffic after a semi crashed and caught fire Tuesday morning.
In a news release, Saskatoon Police Service confirmed the driver experienced a medical event and no charges are anticipated.
The crash happened at Circle Drive and Millar Avenue, leaving both the east and westbound lanes of Circle blocked during the crucial morning drive to work.

The driver collided with overhead signs and and street light poles.
Sanding trucks have covered the intersection but the City of Saskatoon advised drivers that sections of roadway may remain icy.
Jack, a 650 CKOM listener, said he was heading east when he saw the semi collide with a road sign on the median of Circle Drive, near Venture Crescent.
“A semi a couple of vehicles ahead of me just suddenly, out of the blue, swerved and took out the post that holds up the overhead sign in the median between the east and the westbound lanes,” he said.

The semi caught fire after the crash, but the flames were quickly extinguished by emergency workers.
“Firefighters deployed hose lines and performed an exterior attack to bring the fire under control,” the Saskatoon Fire Department said in a statement.
“The fire was fully extinguished at 8:03 a.m. No injuries were reported. The vehicle’s occupant was able to exit safely.”

Traffic in the area was backed up significantly after the crash, though police were at the site directing drivers in an effort to ease the congestion.
