Saskatoon is inviting residents to “deck the malls” this holiday season, as the Jingle Bell Express returns to the city.
The special transit route, which launches for the season on Saturday, runs every weekend in December and offers free fares on Boxing Day.

The route sees two buses circulating in opposite directions between the city’s five malls – Centre, Confederation, Lawson Heights, Market and Midtown – so shoppers don’t miss any great deals either before or after Christmas.
The city said the Jingle Bell Express – fittingly designated as Route 1225 – lets shoppers skip the hassles of winter driving and navigating busy parking lots.
The holiday route runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but will not be running Dec. 27 or 28. Regular fares apply every day except Boxing Day, when shoppers can ride for free.
“To plan a trip, search Route 1225 in the Transit App or Google Maps Transit, or check out the route schedule on Saskatoon Transit’s website,” the City of Saskatoon said in a statement.
