Students at Saskatoon’s Centennial Collegiate were sent home for the day after the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a report of a small fire inside the Nelson Road school on Tuesday morning.
The fire department said it responded to the call around 8 a.m., and firefighters could see smoke rising from the northeast portable classrooms when they arrived. According to the fire department, the smoke was caused by smoldering styrofoam and welding at a construction site.
