A digital platform has been launched to help pulse producers select the best varieties for their specific growing conditions and locations.
The Pulse Variety Hub serves as a central resource where farmers can get detailed information on pulse varieties, compare performance data across different regions and make informed decisions about which pulse crops — including lentils, peas, chickpeas, faba beans and dry beans — will perform best in their specific geographic areas and growing environments.

The enhanced platform represents a significant advancement in agricultural technology, building upon the previous tool while delivering improvements across all aspects of user experience and functionality.
Winston van Staveren, chair of the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers, said the new website represents a continued commitment to support farmers with the most transparent and accessible agricultural information available.
“We are excited to introduce this powerful new tool that will help pulse producers make more informed variety selection decisions,” van Staveren said.
The platform serves as a resource for pulse producers looking for a variety based on specific growing conditions, regions, market requirements and production goals.
The database includes detailed information on agronomic characteristics, disease resistance profiles, maturity ratings, and performance data across various growing environments.
