A Saskatoon woman was left injured after a woman struck her with a machete in her home.
On Saturday at around 7:30 a.m., Saskatoon police were called to a home in the 300 block of Avenue R South.
They found a 24-year-old woman suffering from “serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.”
“The woman reported waking up to four or five unknown women in her home, one of whom threatened her with a knife while another woman struck her with a machete,” police said in a release.
There are no suspect descriptions at this time.

Bear spray, hammer assault
Police are investigating an assault on two people on Saturday.
At around 1:20 p.m., police were called to the 400 block of Avenue S South, where a woman was sprayed with bear spray.
The woman told officers she was assaulted and robbed by unknown people, along with another man, in the 400 block of Avenue R South.
During the conversation, the police got another call about an injured man.
He was found in a home in the 400 block of Avenue R South.
He reported being outside when he was hit with a hammer and bear-sprayed by the same people the woman claimed to be assaulted by.
Police say the man was also bitten by a large dog when he attempted to get back inside his home.
“He was transported to hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries,” the SPS said.
Stabbing investigation
A 30-year-old man is recovering from a stabbing early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the 400 block of 3rd Avenue North at around 6:40 a.m., where a man was reported hurt.
When police found him, he was suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound.
He wasn’t able to tell officers where the stabbing took place or provide a description of the suspects involved.
