Environment and Climate Change Canada has confirmed a minor tornado near Maple Creek on Saturday.
The preliminarily rated EF0 tornado touched down about 20 kilometres south of Maple Creek at approximately 5:23 p.m.

Environment Canada confirmed the tornado on Sunday at 11:16 a.m. after receiving a report of it and a photo.
No reports of damage were shared with Environment Canada.
“This was considered a landspout tornado that was generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms,” a report on the weather service’s website said.
“Landspout tornadoes do not usually cause significant damage, but can still be dangerous as they can topple trees, damage roofs, or toss debris a short distance.”
Environment Canada is seeking photos of the tornado and reports of damage it may have caused.

According to Environment Canada, Maple Creek received 17.1 millimetres of precipitation on Saturday.
