To start the conversation, several community leaders are finding out what it looks and feels like to endure homelessness. Gord Wyant, Saskatchewan lawyer and politician, is one of them. He and his partner, Pamela Goulden-McLeod, the City of Saskatoon’s director of emergency management, join Evan mid-challenge to share what the first part of the 36-hour experience has been like.

11:30 – First responders face danger in their line of work everyday, sometimes suffering life-changing injuries. A B.C.-based company has spent the past 20 years concentrating on first responder and military veteran PTSD/OSI prevention, treatment, follow up and return-to-work. Derek Sienko, CEO of Diversified Rehabilitation Group, joins Evan ahead of visiting Saskatoon next week.
12:00 – A researcher and postdoctoral fellow from the University of Manitoba, Amani Hamad, has set out to look at the origins of mental disorders to find out whether they include genetic and environmental factors. Both those factors are reflected in family health histories, and Hamad joins Evan to discuss her examination of inter generational transmission of mental disorders from parents and grandparents.
