The Saskatchewan RCMP issued a correction on Tuesday after mistakenly reporting a man dead.
The Mounties initially said a 51-year-old Spiritwood man died following a single-vehicle rollover near near Witchekan Lake First Nation on Saturday.
Police corrected the information later on Tuesday, saying the man was airlifted to hospital by STARS with serious injuries, but did not die.
“Saskatchewan RCMP Media Relations sincerely apologizes for this error,” the Mounties said in a statement.

A passenger in the vehicle was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
The RCMP’s initial statement said the man’s family has been notified of his death, but that was disputed by a family member who contacted 650 CKOM.
The crash is under investigation by the RCMP with help from a collision reconstruction expert.
