A 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy have been charged with manslaughter in the death of another 12-year-old boy Monday in Saskatoon.
It’s the city’s fifth homicide of 2024 — all of which have occurred since Feb. 3.
The two boys also were charged with four weapons-related offences. Police didn’t say what types of weapons were involved.

In a media release Monday, police said officers responded at around 3 a.m. to the 1000 block of Matheson Drive in the Massey Place neighbourhood for a call about a male youth who had been hurt. The victim was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.
At the time, police called the death “suspicious.”
On Wednesday, an update from police said the two boys had been charged. The release didn’t mention the man who also was taken into custody Monday.
