9:00 – Loblaws is doing some back pedaling. A couple of weeks ago they announced that they would no longer be discounting perishable foods like meat, fruit, and vegetables by 50 per cent as they near their best-before date, but following protests and boycotts by their customers they’ve changed their minds. Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, a professor in food distribution and policy and scientific director of the Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University, joins Evan.

10:00 – The Government of Saskatchewan recently announced that it will no longer be funding the provision of clean crack pipes, meth pipes, and informational material on how to use drugs safely. Dr. Carson McPherson, the CEO of ROSC Solutions Group, has been collaborating with the Government of Saskatchewan to shape the province’s new strategy when it comes to dealing with the current addictions and overdose crisis we are facing, and his company has also been the leading organization supporting the Alberta Government as they transition to a ‘recovery-oriented system of care’ over the past couple of years. He joins Evan to explain why he believes this system is the most effective way to deal with addictions.

11:00 – There was an absolutely devastating fire in a hog barn near Cudworth a couple of weeks ago that led to the loss of thousands of pigs. It’s an unfortunate situation, but it’s not uncommon. Dozens of other fires at hog farms have been reported right across this country in recent years, 3 of them right here in Saskatchewan since 2016. What can we do to prevent these devastating fires from happening? Saskatchewan Fire Marshal Wayne Rodger joins Evan.
