Saskatoon patrol officers were in the right place at the right time to thwart a robbery in downtown Saskatoon Monday.
Police received a call around 12:45 p.m. about GMG Jewelers, in the 100 block of 21st Street East, being robbed.
The caller told police that a man wearing mask and wielding a crowbar smashed a display case and stole merchandise.
Two patrol officers walking nearby spotted a man running from the business and arrested him. The stolen items were recovered.
A Toronto man is in custody. Along with a robbery charge, the 27-year-oldĀ is charged with wearing a disguise to commit an offence, mischief and breach of conditions.
