Chicago Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard has been placed on the NHL team’s injured reserve list.
The 18-year-old hockey phenom, who is from North Vancouver, B.C., has a fractured jaw.
The team shared the news on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Bedard played with the WHL’s Regina Pats before he was selected first overall by Chicago in the NHL draft in June.
This season, he leads all NHL rookies with 33 points in 39 games.
It’s not known when Bedard will be returning to the Blackhawks’ lineup.
