Saskatoon is getting ready to mark Remembrance Day on Saturday.
The 92nd Saskatoon Remembrance Day Service is set for Saturday at SaskTel Centre, with doors opening at 9 a.m. and the program set to begin at 10 a.m.
The annual event is typically Canada’s largest indoor Remembrance Day event, and the city is making it easy for veterans to get to and from the event centre.
“Courtesy of RBC Royal Bank, Saskatoon Transit will provide complimentary bus transportation for all Veterans to and from the Remembrance Day Ceremony at SaskTel Centre,” the city said in a release.
For those who can’t attend in person, the service will be streamed online.
Meanwhile, a number of city services will be operating under reduced hours during the holiday on Saturday.
Fixed-route transit will run on holiday hours on Saturday, and on-demand transit service won’t be available.
Saskatoon Public Library locations will all be closed on Remembrance Day, though the Remai Modern gallery will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Parking is free on Saturday, the city noted, and again on Monday.
“Motorists are reminded that all parking requirements remain in effect, including parking time limits,” the city noted.
Garbage, recycling and organic collection will continue as scheduled over the weekend.
More information on city services can be found on the City of Saskatoon website.
