Saskatoon police have identified a person of interest in connection with the city’s latest murder.
In a media release Tuesday, police asked for the public’s help in locating 33-year-old Cary Daniel Bluebell. He has warrants out for his arrest and he’s considered a person of interest in the Aug. 29 killing of Melissa Bear.
At around 10:20 on the night of Aug. 29, officers responded to a house in the 1100 block of St. Paul’s Place for a call about a woman who had been hurt. Police found a 33-year-old woman inside the house; she was taken to hospital, where she later died.
It was the eighth homicide in the city in 2023.
On Tuesday, police issued the media release and photograph of Bluebell.
He’s described as being 5-foot-8 and 168 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of a dagger on his right wrist, the letters “ILL” on the knuckles of his right hand, and the letters “DTB” on his upper left arm.
Anyone with information about Bluebell’s whereabouts is asked to contact Saskatoon police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
