A boy is facing a charge of second-degree murder after a man’s death in Pelican Narrows this week.
According to the RCMP, police got a call about “a serious assault at a residence in Pelican Narrows” at about 1 a.m. Tuesday. The 30-year-old man was found seriously hurt at the scene, and police said he was declared dead at the local clinic. His family has been notified, the RCMP said.
Police said the investigation revealed that “an altercation occurred between an adult male and a youth male.” The boy was found and arrested in Pelican Narrows the same night.
The youth has since been charged with second-degree murder, though he can’t be named due to a provision in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The youth was scheduled to make a court appearance Wednesday morning in Pelican Narrows.
