Some people from La Loche are packing their bags for the second time this month due to wildfires burning in the area.
About 90 people from the northern village are currently heading to Regina, according to the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA).
The SPSA said there were 20 active wildfires around the province as of 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The agency said it’s working on behalf of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council to support 264 evacuees who left their communities due to the raging fires.
People from Dillon, Michel Village, and St. George’s Hill have relocated to Lloydminster, while evacuees from Patuanak and English River have relocated to North Battleford.
Other communities like Deschambault Lake, Clearwater River Dene Nation, Turnor Lake and Birch Narrows have conducted their own self-evacuations, the SPSA added.
