A Saskatoon man is facing a criminal charge after allegedly spitting in a police officer’s face early Thursday morning.
According to police, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Avenue I South that took the form of an argument between a man and a woman.
“As officers were attempting to de-escalate the situation and find an agreeable solution, the man involved in the dispute approached and spat in the face of an attending officer,” police said in a statement.
“The officer was not physically injured but did seek medical attention as a precautionary measure.”
The 39-year-old man was charged with assaulting a police officer, police said.
